Newton Faulkner's "Write It On Your Skin"

Newton has one of those husky rough edged yet also caressing voices that manages to straddle authentically between folk and pop. There are shades of Peter Gabriel in there. He also has a distinctive long ginger dreadlocks look to go along with his earthy image!  He considers himself a traditional troubadour with guitar and songs.

He wished for his third studio album "Write It On Your Skin" to achieve a 'live' vibe and there are several feel good songs on this album. "Pick Up Your Broken Heart" was written on a boat, in sessions with David Sneddon and James Bauer-Mein (The Nexus) and "Soon" was developed with Thomas Leeb. Another album collaborator was bass player Sam Farrar.

He had his first No 1 chart album in 2007 with Hand Built by Robots when he played at major UK festivals. He is also a graduate, along with several other younger contemporary artists, of the Guildford School of Contemporary Music. The first single release from the album "Clouds" received BBC Radio 1 airplay.
