MY BIO 2026

I am a photographer, blogger, reviewer and former teacher. I am particularly interested in concise writing and to focus on accessing the most significant details.

Growing up in Edinburgh art, poetry and music were my escapes to another place and to help make sense of the world. I am interested in the artistic journeys to become great artists and my focus shifted to study the life and works of our genius Scots bard Robert Burns – its been quite a journey! I now live north of Glasgow so its been easy to visit Burns country in Ayrshire. I have also lived ten years abroad in America. Writing, art, poetry and music have always been passions for me from way back when I wrote and drew in my small notebooks.

My other writing projects include children’s books, essays, short stories, poems, arts and history and all things Scotia. I have been writing mainly on artists, music and history. I lived ten years in America, grew up in Edinburgh to Irish parents and now live north of Glasgow.

Film? With some adaptations, I hoped Burns story might make a great film and its truly surprising that there hasn’t been one of his incredibly interesting life and work! (and with James McAvoy as Burns of course!)
